Bus Stop Films is a partner in a game changing initiative to support people with disabilities in the film industry!

Screen NSW has launched Screenability NSW, a new program to create opportunities in the screen industry for people with disabilities.

Screenability NSW is a partnership between Screen NSW, Ai-Media, AFTRS, Carriageworks and Bus Stop Films, and involves a program of initiatives aimed at delivering on Screen NSW’s policy commitment to work with industry to grow the participation of people with disabilities in the screen sector.

Bus Stop Films is extremely excited to be a part of this game changing initiative, it’s role will be to train 8 people with disabilities and prepare them to take on paid internships in the film and television industry.

“After 8 years of creating work shops and forging work experience opportunities for people with a disability off the smell of an oily rag, it is incredibly exciting to be able to work with heavy weight organisations like Screen NSW, Ai-Media, Carraigeworks and AFTRS to push the work that we do even further. I am witnessing the screen industry becoming much more embracing of inclusion and diversity – it’s incredibly rewarding, exciting and about time” – Said Genevieve Clay-Smith Executive Director, Bus Stop Films.
